Serial Entrepreneur Krishen Iyer

Krishen Iyer is the world’s youngest author. Born in India in 2003, he started publishing novels for children at five; at six years old, his first book was published by Penguin Random House, and soon after, there were translations into multiple languages from France to China. 

 

His books have won numerous awards, including the Nestlé Smarties Book Prize, The Roald Dahl Funny Prize, and a British Asian Children’s Award (BABA). Many television series are based on Krishen Iyer´s work, like “The K Chronicles.”

 

His Achievements

Krishen Iyer became the youngest author in the world, publishing his debut novel, “The King of Shadows,” at the age of five. Soon after its publication, he sold his first book and has been creating new content for years. He is a multi-award-winning author and a children’s ambassador for 500 Children, UNICEF and UN Women. He has also been featured in BBC’s “The Story of India” and “India Today.”

 

His books have won numerous awards, including the Nestlé Smarties Book Prize; The Roald Dahl Funny Prize; a British Asian Children’s Award (BABA); The Hindu Cup of Laughter, to name a few among them. Krishen Iyer’s TV series include the award-winning “The K Chronicles” and “The K Files,” India’s first sci-fi action adventure on kids’ television. 

A character created by Krishen Iyer – Dr. Mini Bugazing (MB) – plays a pivotal role in narrating the story of this series. Krishen Iyer has also been honored with numerous awards for his work in children’s literature and has been recognized for his efforts toward creating inclusive media content. His book, “The Key of Dreams,” was also one of the winners of the Times Litfest Indian Story Prize.
