Jeremy Goldstein Raises Money For Charity With Wine

Jeremy Goldstein and friends held a lavish dinner featuring incredible wines and it was all for charity. All proceeds went to the Fountain House which helps with the humanitarian crisis of mental illness.

Unfortunately, 450 million people all over this globe are affected by mental illnesses. The negative effects of mental illness manifest in adverse ways within our modern society. Many of those with mental illness cannot hold a job or finish their educations which impacts them economically. Others find it hard to maintain relationships or even care for themselves which can dissolve important human bonds.

The Fountain House provides support with those struggling with mental illness. And mental illness is not a new phenomenon. Fountain House has been operating since 1944 when six people came together at the Rockland State Hospital in New York. They were patients of the mental hospital and they came up with a mantra — We Are Not Alone.

Now this foundation, funded in part by Jeremy Goldstein, operates out of New York City in a permanent “Clubhouse.” This charitable organization has a simple mission. They want to help those with mental illness live as normal a life as possible. It’s a simple mission but it requires a lot of money. That’s where Jeremy Goldstein comes in.

Jeremy Goldstein has made a name for himself in New York City. He founded his own boutique law firm that advises CEOs, management teams and corporations. He has worked with such huge companies as United Technologies, Duke Energy, The Dow Chemical Company and Goldman Sachs.

It’s no wonder that he can raise so much money for the Fountain House. His wine dinner, held in May 2018, was attended by some of the biggest players in the American business world. No doubt a lot of money was raised for the eight of those in need.

Judge Marco Antonio Marques da Silva, An Inspiration

Marco Antonio Marques da Silva is a Judge who was recently honored at the PUC-São Paulo. Marco teaches Criminal Law at the Institute at the Perdizes Campus. One of the new auditoriums was named after him as he is such an inspiration of all. He actually helped with some of the construction to the auditorium. While this man was being honored, the speaker stated that he is “always ready to help with everything”. This is extremely honorable of someone to do.

At the young age of 15 years old, Marco Antonio Marques da Silva was already wanting to go to law school. In 2002, Marco was promoted to a substitute judge and he became a Court of Appeals judge in the year 2007. He was always very professional and well educated in everything he did. Marco is greatly admired at the University and is a role model for his students and other professors. There are many people that look up to this inspiration of a man. He made sure that he was always available to talk and to help regardless of the person’s sex, race, social or political status. He never based a person on how they looked from the outside. He never viewed others as inferior and always treated everyone with the upmost respect.

In addition to his honoring ceremony, Judge Marco Antonio Marques da Silva also was given a plaque from PUC’s Office for Specialization and Extension courses. This was just another additional thing for him to do. During his honoring he recognized his wife, sister, mother and his daughter stating that he wouldn’t be able to get where he was today without them. The ceremony was a beautiful one and was one to remember forever. Judge Marco was a very busy man but always made sure he made time for everyone no matter what.
