Jeremy Goldstein Raises Money For Charity With Wine

Jeremy Goldstein and friends held a lavish dinner featuring incredible wines and it was all for charity. All proceeds went to the Fountain House which helps with the humanitarian crisis of mental illness.

 

Unfortunately, 450 million people all over this globe are affected by mental illnesses. The negative effects of mental illness manifest in adverse ways within our modern society. Many of those with mental illness cannot hold a job or finish their educations which impacts them economically. Others find it hard to maintain relationships or even care for themselves which can dissolve important human bonds.

 

The Fountain House provides support with those struggling with mental illness. And mental illness is not a new phenomenon. Fountain House has been operating since 1944 when six people came together at the Rockland State Hospital in New York. They were patients of the mental hospital and they came up with a mantra — We Are Not Alone.

 

Now this foundation, funded in part by Jeremy Goldstein, operates out of New York City in a permanent “Clubhouse.” This charitable organization has a simple mission. They want to help those with mental illness live as normal a life as possible. It’s a simple mission but it requires a lot of money. That’s where Jeremy Goldstein comes in.

 

Jeremy Goldstein has made a name for himself in New York City. He founded his own boutique law firm that advises CEOs, management teams and corporations. He has worked with such huge companies as United Technologies, Duke Energy, The Dow Chemical Company and Goldman Sachs.

 

It’s no wonder that he can raise so much money for the Fountain House. His wine dinner, held in May 2018, was attended by some of the biggest players in the American business world. No doubt a lot of money was raised for the eight of those in need.

Drew Madden Paves the Path Towards a Customer-Centric Healthcare Industry

A couple reports have been setting the healthcare world into a buzz recently. The initial one reporting that CVS has considered purchasing health insurance behemoth Aetna.

The next publishing showed that Amazon acquired pharmacy permissions with multiple states. (Looking at the fine print revealed that the permits comprised the distribution of healthcare devices and not the administration of prescription medicines, but it’s clear that Amazon is expected to acquire such licenses down the road.)

As we look at it, both of these two progressions are related a lot. The most evident connection, stated by various investors that own shares of pharmacy stocks during the Amazon reporting is that there’s a sincere trust that Amazon will move towards pharmaceutical sales.

Along with its demonstrated capacity to upend businesses and its broad retail footprint following the purchase of Whole Foods, Amazon can become a formidable competitor instantly. With each passing day, the Amazon factor becomes more real. It’s forcing change on legacy businesses such as CVS.

It’s apparent that CVS’s shift into health insurance is partly a defensive action on Amazon, as with its recently announced program to extend next-day delivery for prescriptions nationwide.

This is the next big step in making health care more customer-focused. By drawing in as many components of the healthcare ecosystem to one roof as possible, businesses within the healthcare industry can produce the customer experience that companies like Amazon have developed their businesses on.

Michael Lacey; American Mathematician, Scholar, and Mentor

Michael Lacey is an American mathematician who attained his Ph.D. from the University of Illinois. Mr. Lacey who was born in 1959 pursued his academic aspirations from a young age. He received the Ph.D. under the guidance and direction of Walter Phillip, a respected scholar. Lacey’s thesis was on probability.

Specifically, he researched the Banach Spaces and solved various problems in relation with the iterated logarithms and the characteristic functions. In the years that followed, his research made significant contributions on probability, harmonic analysis and the ergodic theory.

Lacey taught Mathematics in various universities for the last three decades. This includes the time he worked as an American professor and the different short-term teaching positions he held overseas. Michael Lacey held postdoctoral positions while working at the Louisiana State University. He also served in similar capacities during his tenure at the University of North Carolina. Some of his notable accomplishments while working in these universities include providing proof and surety of the central limit theorem. His students describe him as an exciting and engaging professor. His motivation and encouragement assisted in increasing students in the STEM majors.

Lacey also worked at the Indiana University since 1989. Here, the doctor received a postdoctoral fellowship. He also began further research on bilinear Hilbert transform. At the time, the subject was in the conjecture of different scholars. Solving the problem in 1996 awarded him the Salem Prize.

He has been a Mathematics professor since then, and his excellent skills enabled him to receive the Guggenheim Fellowship in 2004. He was appointed one of the fellows of the American Mathematical society in2012. Other notable awards he has received include the Simons Foundations.</li>

Aside from his success in research, Michael Lacey has undertaken various leadership tasks. This includes directing training grants that support multiple students.

Michael Lacey has also offered advisory services and consultation for undergraduate students that became leaders in their respective graduate programs. Due to his input, students succeeded in both academic and industrial jobs. Also, the doctor has mentored at least ten postgraduate students.
