From Russia With Love
Aunt Sharron's Interview with Candidate for Lt. Gov., Paul Murad
When I met Paul Murad a few weeks ago, my first impression is that he is a gentleman, debonair, confident, and class. Did I mention he is tall and handsome? What impressed me the most is that when he spoke, he looked directly into my eyes. By the way honest men look folks in the eyes.

A democrat, Murad is a candidate for Lieutenant Governor of Nevada 2010. Murad, a Las Vegas community leader with international-business experience, officially declared his candidacy in the Democratic primary March 9.

When Paul is elected as Nevada’s Lieutenant Governor, he will be the President of the Nevada State Senate, in addition to being Chairman on the Commission of Economic Development and Chairmen of Tourism, he will serve as member on the State Board of Transportation.

Now, I hardly get involved with politics, but this young man radiates determination and strength. As a reporter, I knew there was a story. So here it is.

Russian born, Paul’s father passed away when he was just 5 years old. Raised by his mother, he dreamed of living in America and becoming a successful businessman. His family moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma where he finished high school and graduated from the University of Tulsa. His ensuing career found him working in business development for Multi-national corporations. He traveled the world, developing international business relationships and gaining first-hand knowledge of people and customs. This global perspective gives him a strong voice as an ambassador promoting Nevada around the world and attracting capital and investments to increase economic development, expand tourism, and bring jobs to Nevada.

Paul has lived in the Las Vegas area for eight years, and today he is a U.S. citizen, single, and a highly regarded real estate broker. I asked Paul, "Why do you want to be Nevada's next Lieutenant Governor?"
1. He wants to be part of the solution for Nevada.
2. To give back to America
3. He believes he is qualified and wants to be an ambassador for Nevada.
In addition to the above attributes and qualifications, Paul speaks three languages. How many of us average Americans can say that? Of course, I don’t care to move to any other country. So, why not support this young man who believes in America and will work hard to make it a better place. Sounds American to me.

Come on folks, I know we all sit back and complain about politicians. I do it all the time. That is why I wanted to learn more about Paul. He has my vote. Once he takes office, he will have my support until he shows me differently.
