For nearly two decades Paul Murad has made a living as a small business owner and entrepreneur. Now he is prepared for a new role where he’ll call into action his international business experiences, knowledge of Nevada, and advocacy for middle-class families. Paul Murad is running for Lieutenant Governor of Nevada.
While working in business development for multinational corporations, Paul traveled the world, developing international business relationships and gaining first-hand knowledge of people and customs. This global perspective gives him a strong voice as our ambassador promoting Nevada around the world and attracting capital and investments here in order to increase economic development, expand tourism, and bring jobs to Nevada..
Today’s financial crisis requires a Lieutenant Governor with the qualifications, business acumen and passion to set the stage for Nevada’s recovery. Paul has all three and a vision for Nevada’s future. His vision focuses on jobs, business growth, economic stability and renewable energy. He advocates for families by working with non-profit organizations such as Opportunity Village and the United Way of Southern Nevada’s Young Philanthropist Society, which he founded. In so doing, he has earned the respect and trust of many Nevadans and citizens in neighboring states.
This season of public service means Paul Murad is also prepared to contribute the values and integrity gained from the past. As a child growing up in the Soviet Union, he lived in a one-room apartment with his mother. His father died when he was 5-years-old. While he excelled in academics, Paul participated in a mandatory student program picking potatoes in government-owned fields after school. Due to the oppressive political regime and lack of opportunities, Paul dreamed of coming to America. At 16-years-old his dream came true. Paul came to the United States on his own with nothing more than a few hundred dollars in his pocket. He was looking forward to a better, more prosperous life. He had no idea what the world would have in store for him.
Believing that opportunities are unlimited for people willing to work hard and smart in America, Paul made his education the primary focus. With academic scholarships and part-time jobs, Paul earned his college degree in finance and international business at the University of Tulsa.
America and Nevada gave Paul the opportunity to pursue the American Dream. Now, he wants to put his expertise and experiences to work for the people of Nevada as your Lieutenant Governor.
